HYDERABAD:Sindh Minister for minority affairs and focal person rain emergency at Jamshoro Giyanchand Essrani on Friday visited the embankments of river Indus at Khanpur and Kotri areas and inspected the flow of water in Indus River.
The minister said that though protective dykes near Ras Wah Mori in Kotri and Khanpur remained sensitive however the flood situation at present remained normal with passage of 400000 cusecs of water at the downstream of Kotri Barrage.
He assured that the river dykes are safe as the irrigation department and the district administration have been engaged in round the clock monitoring of embankments of the river.
He informed that more than 800,000 cusecs of water had passed from the downstream the Kotri Barrage in the year 2010 and this year around 500000 to 600,000 cusecs of water is expected to reach at Kotri barrage.
