HYDERABAD: Modern Technology, Information Technology experts and heads of different institutions at a conference have emphasized joint working for the development of the Sindhi Language, inclusion of the Sindhi Language in Artificial Intelligence and giving required status to Language. They expressed these views while addressing a Conference organized by the Sindhi Language Authority on the topic of Artificial intelligence, Technology and the future of the Sindhi Language, here on Sunday. Experts stressed the need to compile the maximum number of Sindhi Language words on internet portals and urged all institutions to work as a task force for providing opportunities to Students and Scholars working in the Information Technology sector.
The Vice Chancellor Mehran University of Engineering and Technology Jamshoro Dr. Taaha Hussain presided over the Maiden session of the National Conference. The Chairman Sindhi Language Authority Dr. Ishaq Samejo welcoming guests and describing the purpose of the Conference said that apparently the Sindhi Language has no threat and it faces no resistance, however, we have gathered here to ascertain what will be the future of Sindhi Language and where it will stand in this modern Technology and what we could have to do with its preservation. He said that we have planned to work with Abdul Majid Bhurgri Institute for this purpose, however, he asked different IT departments to prepare projects regarding Sindhi Language and Sindhi Language Authority would extend every possible assistance so that the challenges of language could be faced collectively. The chief guest of the inaugural session, Vice Chancellor MUET Prof. Dr Taha Hussain in his presidential address said that Artificial intelligence was a very big Technology from Robot, although we could not have reached this technology but SLA has taken a laudable step to hold a conference on this unique topic.
He said that youth were our future and brain and today’s youth were much familiar to teachers because the duty of the teacher was to teach and guide, however so many opportunities exist in this modern era. The Commissioner of Hyderabad Division Khalid Hyder Shah said that it was the basic duty of educational institutions to work on Artificial Intelligence and the latest Technology as the young generation know everything but need more avenues and atmosphere to prove their potential. He urged Universities to provide opportunities for youth to prove their mettle and through such institutions were major sources to compete Technology.
Director Abdul Majid Bhurgri Institute of Language Engineering Amar Fayaz Buriro said that today the world has turned into a market where every commodity was sold and at this time Sindhi People had which commodity to sell in the global market? He said that he had an Indus script of the Mohenjo daro period. Folk wisdom in the shape of Shah-jo-Risalo but the preparation of databases was needed in this regard because in the coming years there will be pure Sindhi words which would be given by us and if no work is done on it then it will be a big mistake.
Pro. Vice Chancellor Sindh University Larr Campus Dr Khalil Khumbati said that Technology has always found solutions to problems which were being made possible through artificial intelligence and this process was continued for 50 years but modified with the passage of time. Experts and Scholars of the different departments of IT and the latest Technology presented their papers on the topic and gave proposals. Secretary Sindhi Language Authority Dr Ehsan Danish expressed gratitude to the guests and said that in order to preserve the future of Sindhi Language, connecting Sindhi Language with the modern world was mandatory.
