SIU kills key shooter in marble factory extortion case

Karachi:The Special Investigation Unit (SIU) of Karachi Police killed an alleged key shooter and gang leader involved in an extortion case targeting a marble factory during an encounter in the limits of Pak Colony police station.



According to the SIU spokesperson on Wednesday, the deceased was identified as Nifaz-ul-Islam, son of Jamal. Two pistols, one 9mm and one 30-bore, along with a mobile phone allegedly used in the extortion incident, were recovered from his possession.



The suspect was allegedly leading an extortion gang and was involved in the case of an extortion attempt against the owner of a marble factory in Pak Colony.



On September 4th, 2026, he allegedly telephoned the factory owner and demanded Rs1.5 million in extortion. He also allegedly left an extortion note and a live cartridge at the factory. A case (FIR No. 259/2026) was registered at Pak Colony police station.



The suspect later opened fire at the marble factory along with an accomplice and was allegedly the main shooter in the attack.



The deceased had previously been arrested in several serious cases. Further investigation is underway.
