Lodhran: The Dhanot police raided and arrested six gamblers and recovered Rs 6,580 betting amount and other goods.
According to spokesperson for police, the arrested suspects were identified as Jamil, Irfan, Allah Bakhsh, Iqbal, Muazzam and Akhtar. During the raid, police recovered cash amounting to Rs 6,580 placed as betting money, along with two fighting roosters.
District Police Officer (DPO), Capt (retd) Ali bin Tariq, said that illegal gambling and betting activities were major contributors to social disorder and will not be tolerated. He emphasized that strict action will continue against those involved in such unlawful practices.
The DPO further stated that no illegal activities would be allowed under the pretext of sports.
