Larkana: SMBB Medical University Larkana celebrated “Defense week” with zeal and enthusiasm in Chandka Medical College on Tuesday in the memory of the martyrs of armed forces in 1965 war.
The Defence Day ceremony, held at Chandka Medical College Larkana, started with the National Anthem. A documentary was presented in the ceremony paying homage to the martyrs of 6th September 1965. Students presented national songs and gave speeches on the importance of Defence Day.
Addressing the event, Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Nusrat Shah said that, “I was a child, I remember there used to be an atmosphere of fear during black outs of Indo-Pak wars. But after the 1971 war, our great leader Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto had the vision to acquire the nuclear technology to make Pakistan safe. He said we will eat grass but will make the atomic bomb, and he did it even though he had to sacrifice his life for this”.
Principal Chandka Medical College Professor Dr. Zameer Ahmed Soomro said that our real heroes are those who sacri
ficed their lives for the integrity of the country, and today reminds us that Pakistan is in strong hands, Director Academic Dr. Shahid Hussain Soomro also addressed the ceremony, The Dean Prof. Dr. Qarao Shah, Prof. Saeed Ahmed Sheikh, Prof. Riaz Ahmed Sheikh, Prof. Salim Sheikh, Vice Principal Chandka Dr. Fauzia Chandio, Prof. Shabnam,Spokesperson Samad Bhatti were present in the ceremony. Faculty, officers and students participated in large numbers. The program was followed by Certificate Distribution to faculty, and officers who had helped in organising the 14 August ‘Youm e Azadi’ program another hand yesterday Memorandum of Understanding Signed Between SMBB Medical University, Larkana, and Baqai Medical University, Karachi , The MoU was signed by Prof. Dr. Nusrat Shah, Vice Chancellor and Dr. Mir Hassan Khoso, Director ORIC from SMBBMU with Prof. Dr. Iftikhar Ahmed Siddiqui, Vice Chancellor and Dr. Nazeer Khan, Director ORIC from BMU Karachi.
