FAISALABAD: A week-long special anti-polio drive in two tehsils of the district was inaugurated here on Sunday.
Deputy Commissioner Abdullah Nayyar Sheikh opened the drive by administering polio drops to a child at Hilal-e-Ahmar Maternity Hospital here.
As many as 758,518 children under five year of age will be administered anti-polio vaccine in two tehsil city and Tandlianwala. At least 604,602 children in 113 union councils of tehsil city and 153,916 children in 28 union councils of tehsil Tandlianwala will be given vaccines. Total 2247 anti-polio teams will complete the task.
The Deputy Commissioner appealed to parents to coordinate with polio teams and administer vaccines to their children for their safety.
