WAH CANTT:Two men were found dead in separate incidents within the jurisdiction of Taxila Police Station on Thursday, including a butcher who allegedly died by suicide amid financial distress and an unidentified man whose body was recovered from a deserted area of a private housing society.
According to police sources, Javaid Akhter, a butcher residing in Mohallah Mashraqiabad, was reportedly facing severe financial difficulties over a loan he had obtained from local investors on interest. The lenders were allegedly pressuring him to repay the outstanding amount, adding to his financial distress.
Police sources said Javaid locked himself inside a room at his residence on Thursday and allegedly slit his throat with a sharp-edged instrument. He died at the scene.
In a separate incident, police recovered the body of an unidentified man from a deserted area of a private housing society within the same jurisdiction. His identity and the circumstances surrounding his death had not been established immediately.
