Lahore:The Unique Group of Institutions (UGIs) organised a fire safety drill seminar in collaboration with Rescue 1122 to enhance the safety and emergency preparedness of its students and staff.
The session was presided over by Unique Group Chairman Professor Abdul Mannan Khurram.
A documentary highlighting various aspects of fire safety and emergency response was also screened during the event.
Addressing the gathering, Prof Abdul Mannan said the primary objective of organising training seminars such as the fire safety drill was to equip the Unique Group’s administrative staff with the knowledge and skills required to respond effectively to emergency situations.
He said such training would enable staff members to play a responsible and timely role in dealing with unforeseen incidents. ‘Along with meeting the academic needs of our students, the Unique Group is also paying special attention to their safety and ensuring a secure educational environment,’ he said.
Professor Khurram added that the training session conducted in collaboration with Rescue 1122 would prove highly beneficial for the administrative staff by providing them with practical knowledge of safety measures and appropriate emergency response procedures.
Earlier, Dr Muhammad Ashraf of Rescue 1122 briefed the administrative staff on fire prevention, precautionary measures during emergencies and various aspects of fire safety. A practical fire safety drill was subsequently conducted, during which participants were trained in the safety measures and procedures to be followed in an emergency.
Unique Group Vice Chairman Afif Ashraf Siddiqui also addressed the gathering.
The event was attended by Unique Group Rector Professor Amjad Ali Khan, Director (Academics) Professor Wasim Anwar Chaudhry, Director (Administration) Professor Muhammad Abdullah and a large number of members of the Unique Group administration.
