Lahore: A delegation of American businessmen called on Punjab Assembly Speaker Malik Muhammad Ahmad Khan here on Friday.
Prominent figures from the business communities of Pakistan and the United States participated in the meeting, during which a detailed exchange of views was held on further strengthening bilateral trade relations. Special stress was placed on promoting business-to-business linkages and enhancing effective coordination between the two sides.
PA Speaker Malik Muhammad Ahmad Khan stated that Pakistan and the United States were fully committed to the promotion of trade cooperation. He added that both countries were prepared to elevate their bilateral relations to new heights.
The speaker stated that the early resolution of issues faced by the business communities of Pakistan and the US was indispensable for sustainable economic engagement. He noted that Pak-US relations were rooted in mutual trust and a longstanding strategic partnership.
He said that the Pakistani-American community was playing a vital role as a strong bridge between the two countries, contributing positively to economic and people-to-people ties.
Those present at the meeting included Mohsin Ranjha, David Scott, Dana Lloyd, William Paul, Christina Jane, Michael Berkeley, Dr Rubina, Ashrah Mal, Secretary General Chaudhry Amer Habib, and other members of the delegation.
