Multan:A woman and her 12-year-old son were killed on Saturday in a mysterious explosion at a house in Nek Town Colony near Naseerabad.
According to initial reports, the incident occurred around 4pm. Some residents said the boy, identified as Anas, found an iron ball-shaped object resembling a toy while playing in the street and brought it home. They said it exploded when it was struck against a wall.
However, a cylinder blast has also been suspected in the incident. The exact cause of the explosion could not be confirmed so far.
The woman and her son died on the spot. Law enforcement agencies are investigating the incident and examining all aspects, said police sources.
