Women Development Department marks Int’l women’s day

HYDERABAD: Department of Women Development Shaheed Benazirabad organized a program on the occasion of International Women Day at Government Girls Fatima Jinnah High School for the encouragement of women folk.

Commissioner Abdul Aleem Lashari was chief guest on the occasion. Addressing the occasion, the Commissioner, Additional Commissioner Fayyaz Hussain Rahujo, Prof Dr Fareeda Wagan, Deputy Director Women Development Naseem Hassan Mastoi, Shahnaz Lakho, Humaira Meer and others said that equal rights for women in the field of education and employment could make them walk on the road of genuine development of society.

Speakers said that objective of celebrating International Women Day is to raise awareness among men and women about their rights. Speakers said that rules formed for prevention of underage marriages, domestic violence and other issues pertaining to women require strict implementation.

On the occasion students of the school presented tableau regarding protection of women rights. The program was attended by Deputy District Education Officer Khalida Umer, Principal Government Girls College Lala Rukh Baloch, Advocate Fauzaia, officials of police, school teachers and students in large number. Later Commissioner Abdul Aleem Lashari and other guest visit museum set up in school and library.
