Charsadda Sports Festival to begin from Feb 4: Tehseen Ullah

PESHAWAR:Charsadda Sports Festival organized by District Sports Office Charsadda and District Administration Charsadda will begin from February 4 at Abdul Wali Khan Sports Complex, District Sports Officer Charsadda Tehseen Ullah Khan told reporter here on Wednesday.

He said both male and female athletes from district Charsadda would take part in the Sports Festival as desired by Deputy Commissioner Charsadda Sadaat Hassan and Additional Deputy Commissioner Charsadda Muhammad Ali Shah and Additional Commissioner Charsadda Miss Sania Safi.

He thanked Deputy Commissioner Charsadda Sadaat Hassan and Director General Sports Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Khalid Khan for their due support and added that games for men and women would be parts of the festival. He said that male would take part in the athletics, badminton, basketball, football, hockey, squash, table tennis, throwball, tug-of-war and volleyball while female would participate in the athletics, badminton, Hockey, netball, squash, table tennis, throwball, tug-of-war and volleyball competitions. The purpose of organizing games is to provide opportunities to the youth to come forward, he told.

The Festival, he said, is being organized in the light of the directives of DG Sports Khalid Khan which will provide opportunities to male and female athletes to show their best talents. He said that there has always been an effort to find talent from the grassroots level. The Talent Hunt Program is also underway, Tahseen Ullah said, adding, “The best players are being selected and the best training is being provided to them under qualified coaches.” He said that we would try our best to provide maximum opportunities to the players to come forward so that they can make a name for the country and the nation famous not only at national but also at international levels.
