ISLAMABAD: Islamabad High Court (IHC) Wednesday adjourned the hearing till October 26, on an intra court appeal (ICA) of federal government in a case pertaining to removal of National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) President Arif Usmani.
A two-judge bench comprising Chief Justice Athar Minallah and Justice Amir Farooq heard the ICA of federation against the decision of single member bench.
The court sought arguments from the additional attorney general on the next hearing after the lawyer of NBP Makhdoom Ali Khan concluded the arguments.
Chief Organizer Staff Union of NBP Latif Qureshi’s lawyer GM Chaudhry appeared before the court.
The chief justice asked whether the president of NBP and chairman of the board of governing had not filed an appeal.
The lawyer said the finance ministry and NBP had filed the case against the decision of single member bench.
Makhdoom Ali Khan Advocate adopted the stance that Arif Usmani had withdrawn his dual nationality for this.
He said the NBP President Arif Usmani was holding the degree of physics.
After listening arguments, the court adjourned the hearing till October 26.
