ISLAMABAD:The incumbent government has completed 20 mega electricity projects including one Independent Power Producer (IPP), four of National Transmission and Despatch Company (NTDC), and 15 of Quetta Electric Supply Company in Balochistan so far.
The total cost of the projects was approximately Rs 335,012.6 million, sources told reporter here on Thursday.
Sharing the details, they said that a 1,320 MW imported coal-based power generation project has been completed at Hub, Balochistan during the tenure of the present Government through the Private Power and Infrastructure Board (PPIB).
PPIB processed the project under the framework of the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and it was commissioned on August 17, 2019.
The sponsors of the project include Hub Power Company (Pvt.) Limited and China Power International Holding.
Similarly, four mega projects of electricity were carried out by NTDC in Balochistan during the tenure of the present government, they said.
They said the 1,320 MW power generation project developed in IPP mode under the Power Generation Policy 2015, with 100% private sector investment of $ 1,912 million.
The total cost of 15 mega projects executed by QESCO was Rs. 27700.6 Million.
Similarly, the total cost of NTDC projects was estimated as Rs. 20512 million, while the total amount incurred was Rs. 15621.1 million.
