ISLAMABAD:Special Assistant to the Prime Minister (SAPM) on Climate Change Malik Amin Aslam Thursday said massive industrial activities were the main cause of global warming and increasing environmental degradation all over the world.
Talking to PTV news, he said global warming was increasing day by day as major pollution generating countries were not taking serious steps to control the current ecological disaster causing habitat loss, abrupt weather patterns and shift in rainfall seasons.
To a question, Malik Amin said the whooping impacts of climate change were not good for human beings as health complications and diseases were spreading at a fast pace around the world especially in underdeveloped countries facing various problems and adverse effects of environmental degradation.
The present government had launched a series of projects under Clean and Green Pakistan with the support of the masses, he added.
He said international community had already acknowledged the best initiatives of Pakistan regarding climate change mitigation and anti-pollution endeavors to ensure clean air.
He said it was the major responsibility of all stakeholders to pay full attention on this serious issue.
