PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Local Government Akbar Ayub has appreciated European Union for extending support to strengthen local government system and said the good gesture would promote cordial relations between Pakistan and union members.
He was addressing a review meeting to promote cooperation between Local Council Associations and European, said a release issued here on Tuesday.
The meeting was also attended by EU Ambassador, Androulla Kaminara and representatives of Local Government Associations of KP, Punjab, Baluchistan and Sind.
The minister said that record allocations have been made for LG elections apart from fund of elections commission in new fiscal year adding 30 percent of resources have been earmarked for LG system. He said that we fully appreciate the cooperation of EU that would always be remembered.
