Needy children to get benefit from Ehsaas Education Stipends: DG

ISLAMABAD:Director General National Commission for Human Development Hassan Baig on Wednesday said that NCHD in collaboration with Ehsaas program was making efforts to increase literacy rate and giving incentives to prevent dropouts from schools.

Talking to PTV News, he said it was the topmost priority of the government that national resources should be utilized for the welfare of the common people and human development.

He said an MoU was already signed between Ehsaas and National Commission for Human Development (NCHD) to mobilize eligible families to enroll their children under Ehsaas Education Stipends.

“Under the umbrella of Ehsaas program, Children of the needy families would get benefit from Ehsaas stipends to continue their studies till higher secondary education”, he added.

Children of the deserving families who are registered with the Ehsaas program can get education stipends in schools and colleges registered with the concerned education departments to continue their secondary and higher secondary studies, he further mentioned.

He stressed that no nation could achieve the goal of progress and prosperity without promoting education and better modern health facilities to the masses, adding, government’s flagship Sehat Card Scheme would bring about a revolution in the health sector besides providing universal health coverage to people.

DG also said that World Human Rights month was being observed in December to draw the attention of the national and international community towards the human rights current situation.
