PESHAWAR: The Department of Auqaf and district administration Peshawar retrieved properties worth billions of rupees during a joint grand anti-encroachment operation on G.T. Road and Dalazak Road here on Wednesday.
Nine (9) kanal and 8 marla official land was retrieved during the operation while 14 persons were also arrested, who will face proceedings under 3 MPA.
On the directives of Commissioner Peshawar Division, Riaz Khan Mehsud and Deputy Commissioner (DC) Peshawar, Khalid Mahmood, a joint operation was conducted against encroachments established on official land.
A heavy contingent of police was also deployed to avert any kind of unpleasant incident.
Deputy Commissioner (DC) Peshawar, Khalid Mahmood has directed all administrative officers for taking action against encroachment mafia and sending to all those who are re-erecting encroachments to prisons.
