IUB offering admissions in 118 Bachelors, 61 M.Phil, 55 PhD programs for Fall 2021 semester

BAHAWALPUR: The Islamia University of Bahawalpur (IUB) has launched admission programmes for various disciplines of different levels including Bachelors, M-Phil and PhD for Fall Admission 2021.

This year the university is offering admissions in 118 Bachelors, 61 in M.Phil and 55 in PhD morning and evening programs in Bahawalpur, Bahawalnagar and Rahim Yar Khan campuses. On the direction of Vice-Chancellor Engr. Prof. Dr Athar Mahboob, a Central Admission Cell and liaison office have been set up at Abbasia Campus under the Directorate of Academics and Directorate of IT. Special admission facilities have been set up in Khanpur, Liaquatpur, Ahmedpur East, Haroonabad, Sadiqabad, Rahim Yar Khan, Zahir Pir, Rajanpur, Minchinabad, Fort Abbas, Chishtian and Lodhran for the convenience of students and parents of remote areas of Bahawalpur Division and where information and guidance on admissions, career counselling and online application facilities will be provided.

It is worth mentioning that the establishment of the best online admission portal and central admission cell at IUB last year resulted in nearly 90, 000 applications for fall and spring admissions and 22, 000 male and female students were admitted. A special bus service has been launched for the towns around Bahawalpur on the special directive of the government and 13 new buses have been added to the transport fleet and 20 new buses are being procured.

Medical facilities at all campuses were upgraded and 3 new ambulances were provided. In terms of scholarships, Rs. 700 million has been allocated under Prime Minister’s Ehsaas Scholarship, HEC Need Based, PEF, British Scholarship and Pakistan Bait-ul-Mal Scholarships. Sports facilities increased significantly, the sports complex was upgraded and a modern gymnasium was set up. The IUB is one of the few universities in the country where the Covid-19 crisis did not allow students to suffer academic losses and the semester was completed by launching online classes on time and now full preparations are underway for the next semester.
