Pakistan mulling to rope in foreign teqball coaches

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Teqball Federation (PTF) is considering to rope in foreign coaches to train youngsters on the most modern lines, the president of the PTF Mian Absar Ali said on Monday.

“Teqball is a fledgling sport in the country and we are making all-out efforts to introduce it at the club level, ” he said while addressing a teqball table installation ceremony here at Iqra University.

The teqball table has been provided by Hungary.

Absar said teqball was the fastest growing sport in the world and currently being played in around 140 countries.

Hungary’s deputy head of mission to Pakistan Tivadar Takács, who was the chief guest said his country would provide full support to Pakistan in the promotion of teqball.

“This game is making stunning progress in Pakistan. The way it is developing here I can say Pakistan will soon become a formidable side, ” he added.

Secretary Islamabad Teqball Association Agha Saud Khan on the occasion expressed the hope that teqball would be among popular sports in Pakistan. “I’m sure soon our teqball athletes would be featuring in national level and international events, ” he added.
