1,918 actions taken against profiteers

Sialkot:Price Control Magistrates on Wednesday conducted 1,918 actions against profiteers and imposed fines totaling Rs.368,000 during the first six days of October.



According to a DC Office spokesperson, the figures were shared during a meeting chaired by Additional Deputy Commissioner(ADC) Headquarters,Sault Hayat Watto to review ongoing price control measures in the district.



The inspections were part of the district administration’s continued efforts to monitor market prices and ensure the availability of essential commodities at officially notified rates.



During the six-day period,magistrates carried out 9,678 inspections at various markets,shops and business centers to check price lists and curb overcharging.



The authorities directed magistrates to maintain regular field visits and take strict action against violators to protect consumers from illegal profiteering.
