Quetta: Security forces have killed eight more Khwarij terrorists as the Pakistan Army, Frontier Corps (FC), and Balochistan Police continue the joint Operation Shaban following the terrorist attack on the Mangi Dam Police Station.

Security sources said that the total number of terrorists killed during Operation Shaban has risen to 79. They said the terrorists were being targeted through coordinated air and ground operations.

They said the security forces were carrying out effective operations against terrorists belonging to Fitna al Khwarij in the area. As a result of the sustained offensive, the terrorists have been forced to abandon their hideouts and flee. A large cache of weapons, ammunition, and other equipment has been recovered from the terrorists’ hideouts, the sources added.

Since July 5, security forces have killed a total of 117 terrorists during Operation Shaban and other intelligence-based operations (IBOs), the security sources said. The sources said Operation Shaban would continue across Balochistan until the last terrorist would be eliminated.

Quetta: Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) Balochistan, through its Gender and Child Cell, in collaboration with the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) organized a one-day introductory workshop on ‘Protection from Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (PSEA): Strengthening Safety Measures in Monsoon Preparedness and Emergency Response (RSP)’.

Representatives from various government departments, humanitarian organizations and development partners participated in the workshop, which aimed to make safety measures during disaster preparedness and emergency response more effective at the institutional level.

On this occasion, Director Planning and Coordination Naveed Ahmed emphasized in his address that the importance of including gender-based violence (GBV), child protection, PSEA and safety measures in the Monsoon Contingency Plan and disaster management system.

He reiterated that PDMA Balochistan is committed to protecting the dignity, safety and fundamental rights of disaster-affected people. Representing the United Nations Resident Coordinator Office (UNRCO), Ms. Rehana Khilji said that PSEA and protection measures are fundamental principles of humanitarianism.

She expressed the commitment of the United Nations to continue its technical support to PDMA Balochistan and its Gender and Child Cell to further strengthen the protection system at the provincial level.The technical sessions were facilitated by Ms. Uzma Zari, Gender Expert, World Food Programme (WFP) Country Office.

She provided training to the participants through inclusive and practical teaching methods. During these sessions, participants were provided with detailed awareness on the basic principles of PSEA, the difference between SEA and SEAH, victim-centered assistance, complaint and referral systems, as well as protection risks faced in emergencies.

The workshop was well attended by representatives of various organizations including IRC, DANESH, BRSP, SPO, PPHI, SEHER, IRP, SHINE, BRDBS and Azad Foundation.

The workshop concluded with a commitment to further strengthen inter-agency communication and collaboration and to make PSEA and safety measures a permanent part of the disaster preparedness and emergency response system, so as to make the provision of safe, dignified, comprehensive and accountable humanitarian assistance across Balochistan more effective.

Quetta: Speaker Balochistan Assembly Captain (R) Abdul Khaliq Khan Achakzai, reviewed the security arrangements of the Assembly in light of the prevailing law and order situation.

The meeting was attended by Additional Chief Secretary (Home) Hamza Shafqaat, Inspector General Police Balochistan Muhammad Tahir, and Assembly Secretary Tahir Shah Kakar.

During the meeting, officials presented a detailed briefing on the measures taken to strengthen the Assembly’s security.

They assured the Speaker that all necessary steps are being implemented to make security more effective, reinforce protective measures, and maintain constant vigilance.

Speaker Achakzai emphasized that the Balochistan Assembly is a vital constitutional institution and its security must not be compromised under any circumstances.

He directed the concerned authorities to ensure that protection, monitoring, and security arrangements are made as effective and foolproof as possible, urging them to fulfill their responsibilities with utmost diligence.

Quetta: Vice Chairman of the Balochistan Board of Investment and Trade (BBoIT), Bilal Khan Kakar on Monday said that under the vision of the Chief Minister of Balochistan, Mir Sarfraz Bugti, the Balochistan Board of Investment and Trade has achieved significant milestones in a short period to promote investment, trade, industry, and employment in the province.

He stated that these achievements are already having a positive impact on the provincial economy. He said that the Balochistan Investment and Trade Expo (BITE 2026), being organized for the first time in the province’s history would serve as a historic platform to showcase Balochistan’s investment potential, trade opportunities, industrial prospects, tourism, mineral resources, and business opportunities at the international level.

He said that the event will bring together domestic and international investors, business leaders, financial institutions, universities, and development partners under one roof, paving the way for new investments, joint ventures, and extensive employment opportunities.

Bilal Khan Kakar said that Balochistan offers immense investment potential owing to its abundant natural resources, strategic geographic location, extensive coastline, vast mineral reserves, agricultural potential, and young workforce.

He emphasized that the Government of Balochistan and the Balochistan Board of Investment and Trade are fully committed to providing investors with every possible facilitation, transparent policies, and comprehensive institutional support.

He further stated that the sustainable development of Balochistan could not be achieved through government efforts alone. Rather, close collaboration among the private sector, investors, the business community, universities, and development partners is essential to place the province on the path of economic self-reliance, industrial growth, and long-term prosperity.

Quetta: Balochistan Chief Minister, Mir Sarfraz Bugti on Monday said that there was an organized conspiracy of the enemy to target innocent citizens through terrorism and then blame the state for it and promote distrust and chaos in Balochistan, however, the joint strength of the government and the people would thwart all such conspiracies.

He said that the path of Pakistan and Balochistan was the track of peace, stability and development and they would not deviate from this path through any pressure or terrorism.

He made these remarks while addressing a condolence reference held in Quetta on the eighth death anniversary of the great political leader of Balochistan and martyr Nawabzada Mir Siraj Khan Raisani.

The condolence reference was attended by Balochistan Chief Minister, Mir Sarfraz Bugti, Member of National Assembly Nawabzada, Mir Jamal Khan Raisani, provincial ministers Bakht Muhammad Kakar, Mir Ziaullah Lango, Mir Asim Kurd Gello, Mir Saleem Khan Khosa, Pakistan Peoples Party leaders, elders of Raisani tribes, political and social figures and a large number of people.

At the beginning of the ceremony, Quran recitation and langar (free food) were also organized to pay homage to Shaheed Mir Siraj Khan Raisani.

The Chief Minister said that if the problem of Balochistan could be solved with his life, then he was ready to give his life, because for him, not the position but the service of the people of Balochistan was the prime priority.

He said that the chair was something to be desired, the real goal was to serve the people and establish peace and development in the province.

Mir Sarfraz Bugti said that the government was ready to take all possible steps to establish peace in Balochistan and the state considered the protection of people’s lives and property as its prime responsibility.

He said that the dream of separating Balochistan from Pakistan through terrorism and violence could never be fulfilled, terrorists would only become an obstacle to progress, prosperity and a bright future for the people.

He said that the government’s top priorities were education, health, employment and sustainable development of Balochistan, while mischievous elements were misleading the youth and pushing them into a futile war.

Addressing the Indian guardians, he said that no matter how many Siraj Raisanis were martyred, another Siraj Raisani would rise from every house of this land and stood for the defense and security of the homeland.

He said that the mission of Shaheed Nawabzada, Mir Siraj Khan Raisani would continue and his sacrifice could always be a beacon of light for the nation.

The Chief Minister said that politics over the sacrifices of the martyrs was regrettable, the government stood with the heir of the martyrs and has expressed solidarity by visiting all the victims of terrorism including Babri, Hanna Urak and Ziarat.

He said that the legitimate demands of the families of the martyrs would be fulfilled and the provincial government could fulfill all its constitutional responsibilities.

He said that innocent laborers were martyred in Mashkail yesterday but their heir did not stage a sit-in anywhere. Similarly, a few days ago, Mir Shafiqur-ur-Rehman Mengal’s house was attacked, he buried his martyrs and did not do politics over the bodies. If politics had been the aim of the bodies, he would have protested instead of burying them.

The Chief Minister said that even after tragic incidents like the Khadhkocha tragedy, the August 8 tragedy and the Police Line attack, the problems were not solved by resignations, but the situation was improved with practical steps.

He said that his governance, performance and administrative affairs should definitely be criticized, but the sacrifices of the martyrs should not be used for political purposes saying that the opposition should talk about the shortcomings of the government but avoid politics over the blood of the martyrs.

Mir Sarfraz said that the soldiers of Pakistan Army, FC, Police and other law enforcement agencies were sacrificing their lives every day to establish peace in Balochistan.

He said that the government and the people stood with their brave security forces in the past, were still standing today and would continue to stand in the future.

The CM said that peace, stability and protection of the people in Balochistan were the top priority of the government.

Speaking on the occasion, Member of National Assembly, Nawabzada Mir Jamal Khan Raisani said that his father always stood by the state of Pakistan, and he would also stand by the state with the same determination.

He said that he would not hesitate to make any sacrifice for the development, peace and prosperity of Balochistan.

At the end, special prayers were offered for the elevation of the ranks of all the martyrs of the beloved country, including Shaheed Nawabzada Mir Siraj Khan Raisani, for the security, peace and development and prosperity of Balochistan.

Quetta: Former provincial minister and member of the Balochistan Assembly, Sardar Abdul Rahman Khetran, on Monday strongly condemned the brutal killing of innocent laborers in Mashkhel, Washuk district, describing the incident as inhumane and intolerable.

Abdul Rehman Khetran said that he has repeatedly raised the issue on the floor of the Assembly, stressing that shedding the blood of unarmed and innocent people could never lead to freedom. He declared that targeting poor laborers was not only against humanity but also a violation of Baloch traditions.

He added that such cowardly tactics could not achieve any objective nor win public support. ‘The killing of innocent citizens is open terrorism, and no words are enough to condemn it,’ Khetran said.

The former minister demanded that those responsible for the tragic incident be arrested immediately and brought before the law to ensure justice for the affected families. He expressed heartfelt sympathy and condolences to the families of the martyrs, praying for the departed souls to be granted the highest place in Jannat-ul-Firdous and for the bereaved families to be blessed with patience and strength.
