Khanewal: Three workers were rescued after a roof slab of an under-construction house collapsed in Bilal Colony, Khanewal, rescuers said on Wednesday.

Rescue teams rushed to the site immediately after receiving the emergency call and initiated a rescue operation to recover those trapped under the debris.

According to Rescue 1122, the rescuers successfully took three injured persons including Babar (45), Farhan (32) and Sabir (30), out of the debris and shifted them to the hospital for medical treatment.

Rescue officials said, trapped victims were provided immediate first aid, including intravenous (IV) fluid administration, at the scene before being transported to the hospital.

The rescue operation involved 11 emergency vehicles and 48 rescuers, who completed the operation efficiently under the supervision of Rescue Safety Officer Muhammad Imtiaz. The cause of the roof slab collapse is yet to be determined.

Rawalpindi: City Police Officer (CPO) Hassan Mushtaq Sukhera paid an inspection visit to Westridge Police Station and reviewed the Moharrir Office, lock-up, official records, police station building, and other operational matters.

During the visit, the CPO met individually with the Station House Officer (SHO) and police personnel, issuing instructions aimed at improving policing standards and service delivery.

He also interacted with members of the public present at the police station, listened to their concerns, and directed the staff to ensure the immediate resolution of their complaints.

Addressing the officers, CPO Sukhera emphasized that citizens visiting police stations must be treated with courtesy and respect, and their grievances should be addressed without delay.

“Providing justice and the highest standard of public service is our foremost responsibility, and any negligence in this regard will not be tolerated,” the CPO added.

Muzaffargarh: A Revenue department team and police personnel came under attack during an anti-encroachment operation in the limits of Chobara Police Station, Chak No. 364, Layyah.

Police have registered a case against 23 suspects, including 14 women, on charges of assaulting government officials and obstructing official duties.

According to the First Information Report (FIR), Revenue Girdawar Chaudhry Riaz, accompanied by Patwari Muhammad Ashraf, police constables Qamar-uz-Zaman, Muhammad Irfan, Ziaullah, and Lady Constable Najma Bibi, was carrying out land demarcation and eviction proceedings when a group of alleged illegal occupants attacked the team.

The FIR states that the assailants, armed with sticks and firearms, allegedly abused the officials, issued death threats, and forcibly snatched cash from the pockets of the government personnel during the attack.

Police have registered a case on the complaint of Girdawar Chaudhry Riaz against nine nominated women, five unidentified women, and nine nominated men under Sections 506, 148, 149, 382, 353, and 186 of the Pakistan Penal Code. Further investigation is underway, police said.
