Gilgit:Karakoram International University (KIU) Financial Aid Office, in collaboration with the China Study Centre, organized a cheque distribution ceremony for recipients of the Pak-China Ambassadorial Scholarship 2026 here at the university’s Conference Hall.
Vice Chancellor KIU Prof Dr Abdul Razzaq attended the ceremony as chief guest and distributed scholarship cheques among 76 students.
Speaking on the occasion, the Vice Chancellor said the Pak-China Ambassadorial Scholarship was a symbol of strong educational ties between Pakistan and China and provided new opportunities to talented students of the region.
He said such scholarships played an important role in reducing financial difficulties faced by students and enabling them to focus fully on their studies.
He congratulated the deserving students on their selection on merit and urged them to make responsible use of the opportunity and strive for academic excellence.
The Vice Chancellor encouraged the students to become ambassadors of knowledge and goodwill and play a positive role in further strengthening people-to-people relations between Pakistan and China. He said the university remained committed to providing scholarships, academic guidance and a conducive learning environment to its students.
Earlier, Director Financial Aid Office Shahid Ahmad Shigri and Director China Study Centre Dr Faqir Muhammad briefed the participants about the scholarship, saying the Pak-China Ambassadorial Scholarship was an important initiative aimed at promoting educational cooperation between the two countries and providing financial assistance to deserving students.
They said timely distribution of the scholarship cheques reflected the university’s commitment to supporting the academic development of deserving students.
