DERA ISMAIL KHAN:Regional Police Officer (RPO) Dera Ismail Khan Nasir Mehmood Satti on Thursday inaugurated a driving license branch in South Waziristan in order to facilitate people of the area.
He inaugurated the facility at the District Police Officer (DPO) Office, South Waziristan during his visit to South Waziristan Lower, Wana.
He also met with tribal elders and dignitaries, who apprised the RPO about the problems and challenges faced by the area.
During the meeting, the RPO underlined the need for making joint efforts to promote an atmosphere of trust to resolve problems and maintain peace by eliminating crimes from the area.
In this regard, he urged the notables to cooperate with the police that were committed to protecting the lives and properties of citizens.
He also eulogized the sacrifices of people they offered for the sake of peace and development of the area.
All the elders assured full cooperation with the police, administration and security forces for the peace and order of the area.
The RPO also presided over a high-level meeting with the senior police officers of the police at the DPO office where the DPO gave a detailed briefing about the law and order situation of the district, challenges and the steps taken to eliminate crimes.
The meeting also reviewed the performance of the police of the district and the RPO asked the district police since it had now become a part of a disciplined force of the KP, it should maintain discipline and enhance trust of people by gaining respect from them.
He urged the district police to forge better relations with people and added that ill-treatment towards citizens would not be tolerated.
As part of such efforts, he underlined the need for evolving coordination with local dignitaries to eliminate crimes from the area through joint efforts.
He also stressed an improvement in discharging professional duties by the personnel of the district police, especially on the investigation front in order to provide instant justice to people.
Later, the RPO awarded commendation certificates to SHO Ragzai Usman Wazir and SHO City Taimur Mehsud for their outstanding performance.
District Police Officer South Waziristan Lower Farmanullah, SDPO Wana, SHOs, other senior police officers and local dignitaries were present on the occasion.
