ABBOTTABAD: Project Direct Area Development Authority (ADA) KPK Roh-ul-Amin said that Abbottabad was a tourist destination and corresponding to its beauty, Abbottabad Township is being constructed on modern way by providing all basic facilities.
He expressed these views while talking to the media here Monday.
Roh-ul- Amin further said that ADA had started development of the township by allocating land for mosques and public parks in the township, transfer of government offices in the shortest span of 5 months, constructing schools, CPEC style roads and planting more than 5000 trees.
He said that this was a rare opportunity for the investors to get in the right place. For the last 35 years, the township was a project on papers only which was turned into a reality where residential and commercial buildings are being constructed and their prices have crossed millions of rupees per Kanal, he expressed.
Roh-ul- Amin said that the project was started in 1984 with1600 commercial and residential plots of 3 marlas, 5 marlas, 7 marlas and canals. He further said that during this period, 38 directors had been changed but the project did not provide any benefit to the masses due to a lack of adequate facilities and infrastructure. Although investors bought the plots but did not pay any attention and the township was losing its utility, he added.
Soon after my deputation, I started the construction work according to the share roads, construction of drainage system and installation of street lights by doing practical work and attracting the people for construction, he said and added that the
government offices had started shifting at Township where Passport Office had been relocated and the Authority was in contact with Excise and Taxation Department and PTCL in this regard. Residential houses are also being built to make the environment pleasant and maintain its beauty, he said and added that the Authority had planted more than 6000 mature pine trees in the township.
