Regional Director Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) Hazara division Shahid Ali on Friday expressed his solidarity with the people of Indian Occupied Kashmir on the eve of Black Day. He expressed these views while addressing a ceremony to show solidarity with the people of Kashmir.
He highlighted that on October 27, 1947, the Indian military occupied and initiated the conflict in the disputed region of Kashmir, the Muslim inhabitants of the occupied valley have been tirelessly struggling for their right to self-determination, and the entire Pakistani nation stands with them.
Shahid Ali said that in Kashmir, serious human rights violations are taking place, and the silence of the international community, particularly the United Nations, is deeply concerning. The Pakistani nation is vehemently protesting in solidarity with their Kashmiri Muslim brothers.
Other speakers emphasized that the true face of India’s malicious intentions has been unveiled in front of the world. The ethnic cleansing of Muslims in th
e occupied valley, the dishonour of women, the ruthless killing of innocent Kashmiris, and actions like lockdowns have failed to dampen the spirit of Kashmiri Muslims.
They asserted that the struggle for the right to self-determination of the Muslim population in the occupied valley will one day be successful, and this right cannot be suppressed by force.
Speakers called upon the international community to act on United Nations resolutions and take notice of human rights violations in Kashmir. They also expressed solidarity with Palestinian Muslims and condemned the oppression and violence by the Zionist forces.
