AJK polls: election campaign ends in Bagh, Haveli ahead of August 10 voting

Mirpur: The election campaign for the third phase of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) general elections concluded at midnight between Saturday and Sunday in four constituencies of Bagh and Haveli districts, according to a spokesperson for the AJK Election Commission.

Polling will be held on August 10 in three constituencies of Bagh district and one constituency of Haveli district, the spokesperson said. With the expiry of the stipulated campaign period, all forms of electioneering have now been prohibited.

Candidates and political parties will not be permitted to organise or participate in public meetings, rallies, processions or corner meetings during the campaign-free period, the spokesperson added.

The Election Commission has directed all candidates and political parties to strictly comply with election laws, the code of conduct and instructions issued by the commission. It warned that violations would invite strict legal action under the relevant laws.
