MIRPUR AJK:The authorities in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) on Monday completed arrangements to observe Youm-e-Ashura, the 10th of Muharram, with due religious solemnity and reverence.
According to the details, the day will begin with special prayers by the faithful at all mosques and Imambargahs across the eight districts of AJK. Alam (religious flags) and Zuljanah (symbolic horse) processions will be taken out from Imambargahs in all ten district headquarters and other cities and towns.
The processions will pass through pre-determined traditional routes and conclude at their designated spots. Stalls and drinking water facilities will be set up along the procession routes to assist the participants.
Ulema and Zakerin will deliver special speeches during the processions, highlighting the significance and sanctity of Youm-e-Ashura, which commemorates the martyrdom of Hazrat Imam Hussain (AS) and his companions.

any sacrifice for its lofty ideals.
In Mirpur, the main Alam and Zuljanah processions will originate from the central Imambargah in Sa’adat colony and culminate at the same location in the evening, followed by the event of ‘Shaam e Ghareeban’.
The observance of Youm-e-Ashura in AJK is expected to be a profound demonstration of unity, cohesion and brotherhood among the faithful, who will renew their commitment to fight against all forms of tyranny and injustice.
