SSP Operation visits Cantt, R.A. Bazar police stations

Rawalpindi:Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Operations, Rawalpindi Kashif Zulfiqar here on Tuesday night made a surprise visit to Cantt and R.A.Bazar police stations.

The SSP reviewed the police station buildings, front desks, records, and lock-ups to ensure the provision of all possible resources to police stations.

DSP Cantt and SHOs briefed the SSP Operation about the performance of the police stations.

The SSP also inspected the facilities being provided to the public and directed that merit and justice must be provided to the people.

KIU,University of Sunderland UK to collaborate on transnational education

Gilgit:Karakoram International University (KIU) and the University of Sunderland UK have agreed to collaborate on Transnational Education (TNE).

According to KIU's Public Relations Department this decision was reached during a meeting between KIU Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Attaullah Shah and Dr. James Scott, Academic Director for Transnational Education at the University of Sunderland, UK.

The meeting focused on launching student exchange programs, enhancing research collaboration and creating scholarship opportunities for KIU students.

On this occasion, Prof. Dr. Attaullah Shah emphasized the importance of academic cooperation and international partnerships to benefit students and enhance the global standing of the university.

Roots Millennium System representative Walid Mushtaq was also present and expressed interest in collaborating with KIU to promote quality education and research in Gilgit-Baltistan.

During the meeting it was decided that KIU and the University of Sunderland will soon sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to initiate various academic and research activities, including student exchange programs. Prof. Dr. Attaullah Shah also presented his book to the delegates during the meeting.

DC visits Mother and Child Health Care Center Nawabshah

Hyderabad:Deputy Commissioner Shaheed Benazirabad Shehryar Gul Memon visited the Mother and Child Healthcare Center on Wednesday.

During visit Deputy Commissioner instructed officers of the Health Department a desk should be setup in Health Care Center to administer anti-polio campaign.

District Health Officer Dr. Asadullah Dahri, Focal Person for Polio Dr. Allah Bakhsh Rajpar, Dr. Ali Akbar Sial and others were present were present on the spot.

Later, Deputy Commissioner Shehryar Gul Memon visited Daur city and inspected the cleanliness and other arrangements.

During visit Deputy Commissioner instructed that the cleanliness situation in the city should be improved while ensuring the supply of drinking water to the citizens.

Assistant Commissioner Daur Hassan Zafar, Mukhtiarkar Daur Muhammad Ali Jamali and other officers were also present on the occasion.

Police arrest four drug peddlers, recover mainpuri

Hyderabad:Police in its continued drive against narcotics and criminals on Wednesday arrested drug peddlers and raw material suppliers, recovered mainpuri from their possession.

The Station House officer (SHO) Hatri police station Inspector Muhammad Aslam Abro along with his staff acting on a tip-off arrested three drug peddlers namely Shujait Ansari, Syed Talha and Faizyab and recovered 80kg mainpuri raw material and 200 packets of mainpuri from their possession.

In another drive police arrested an accused Waheed Gopang and recovered 2 kg marijuana from his possession.

Snow festival to be started on January 28

Neelum:Snow Festival will be started at Sharda on January, 28, the official sources said on Wednesday.

The district administration had made arrangements to hold various events including sports to celebrate the festival in befitting manners, they said.

The youth would participates in the events enthusiastically, they added.

The civil administration in collaboration with Pak-army would make security arrangements for the festival, they added.

Municipal Corporation Sialkot launches crackdown on encroachments

Sialkot:On the instructions of Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Zulqarnain Langrial, the Municipal Corporation Sialkot under the supervision of Assistant Commissioner (AC) Anum Babar, has launched a crackdown against encroachments.

Marble stones temporary and permanent encroachments and temporary roof shades were encroached on Jammu Road were demolished.

Assistant Commissioner Anum Babar said that a comprehensive campaign has been launched against temporary and permanent encroachments.

Under the supervision of Chief Officer Municipal Corporation Sialkot Ejaz Hussain Malik, Mustansar Hussain Incharge Encroachments, Omar Shahzad Enforcement Inspector and encroachment staff, the marble stone owners have been strictly instructed to keep their material inside their shops and the operation will continue until the encroachments are completely eliminated.

She said that the shopkeepers and encroachers should remove their encroachments on their own, otherwise the encroachments will be demolished and cases and fines will also be filed.
