Sheikhupura:A man was killed while two others received injuries here Wednesday in exchange of fire between the two groups over old enmity.

The Recue Sources said, a Rescue 1122 team handed over body to the police, adding the inured had been shifted to a nearby hospital.

They said the body had been identified as Ayaz 47 years old while the injured included Amir 28 years and Pervaiz, 30 years old.

Abbottabad:SP Hazara Motorway Sajjad Bhatti Wednesday handed over a compensation cheque of Rs. 7.5 million to the family of Sub-Inspector Shabbir Hussain, who tragically lost his life in the line of duty near Battal Mansehra.

Representing the National Highways and Motorway Police (NHMP), SP Bhatti, accompanied by other officers, visited the martyr's grave to offer prayers and pay tribute to his sacrifice.

Speaking at the occasion, SP Bhatti emphasized the department's unwavering commitment to honouring its martyrs, stating that their families will always be supported and cared for.

The financial assistance reflects the department's recognition of the sacrifices made by its personnel for the nation.

Peshawar:Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government is contemplating the establishment of its own insurance company to manage various insurance initiatives, including the Sehat Card Plus program.

KP's Finance Advisor, Muzammil Aslam on Wednesday informed that the proposed insurance company would focus on ensuring the smooth functioning of health insurance schemes and other related projects.

He stated that the Sehat Card Plus program aims at introducing biometric verification systems to enhance transparency and reduce the risk of corruption within the healthcare initiative.

The Finance Advisor further highlighted that over the past nine months, more than 30 billion rupees have been allocated for the Sehat Card Plus program.

This reflects the provincial government's commitment to the welfare of its citizens and its dedication to implementing public welfare initiatives effectively.

Faisalabad:The Faisalabad Electric Supply Company (FESCO) is utilizing all available resources to eliminate loose and hanging electric wires in all eight bazaars of Clock Tower (Ghanta Ghar) Chowk to ensure the safety of lives and property of the public.

FESCO Chief Engineer (Operation) Muhammad Saeed said this while reviewing the work of removing hanging electricity wires and maintaining transformers in Ghanta Ghar Chowk here on Wednesday.

He said that FESCO was working to install modern electricity systems in the bazaars for which funds have been sought from the Deputy Commissioner Faisalabad to ensure underground electricity supply in bazaars and markets around the chowk.

Furthermore, on the instructions of Chief Executive FESCO Muhammad Amir, the company is combing the hanging wires, replacing damaged wires and transformer de-fitting sets as well as jumpers, etc. at its own expense.

He said that eight teams of FESCO city and Civil Lines Subdivisions are working to fix the hanging and untidy electric wires in various markets and goal bazaars which will be completed within the next few days. This step will not only ensure uninterrupted supply of electricity to the consumers but it will also enhance the beauty of these markets and bazaars and help in eliminating problems like fire eruption due to short circuiting, he added.

Director Public Relations Muhammad Saeed Raza, Additional Director Operations Ghulam Nabi Memon, Xen Civil Lines Waqas Rashid, SDO Civil Lines Shahsawar, and SDO city Madam Saba Swati were also present on the occasion.

Peshawar:The Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has released Rs 500 million in compensation for the victims of Miranshah Bazaar in North Waziristan, following the efforts of Special Assistant to the Chief Minister for Relief, Haji Naek Muhammad.

According to a press released from the office of PDMA Director General Asfandyar Khattak, the funds have been sent to the Deputy Commissioner of North Waziristan. These funds will be distributed among the victims of Miranshah Bazaar, who were affected during Operation Zarb-e-Azb, in accordance with established guidelines.

Special Assistant Haji Naek Muhammad stated that the provincial government is fully committed to addressing the damages sustained by Miranshah and Mir Ali bazaars during the operation.

He highlighted that compensation had already been provided to victims of both bazaars in the past and assured that additional funds will soon be released to cover those still awaiting relief.

Haji Naek Muhammad reiterated the government's commitment to ensuring that the distribution of funds remains transparent and merit-based.

He affirmed that clear instructions have been issued to the relevant authorities to maintain fairness and accountability in the disbursement process.

Bahawalpur:The Higher Education Commission of Pakistan has nominated Professor Dr. Muhammad Kamran, Vice Chancellor the Islamia University of Bahawalpur and Muhammad Nawaz Sharif University of Engineering and Technology, Multan, as the Vice Chairperson of the National Technology Council.

The Higher Education Commission has issued a notification in this regard.
