Dera ismail khan: District administration Tank is taking solid measures to ensure availability of petroleum products at the officially notified prices in the district.

In this regard, the administration says Additional Assistant Commissioner(AAC) Hassan Shah paid a surprise visit to various filling stations to ensure they are complying with the prices set by the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority(OGRA).

During the visit, AAC took stock of petrol availability at the pumps and checked gauge in a bid to prevent malpractices by the petrol stations.

He said that steps would be taken to protect the public interest and prevent any kind of malpractice in fuel pricing or supply.

He said the provincial government was giving top priority to provide best services under the public service agenda and in this regard, the district administration would make no compromise and would promote transparency in pricing of commodities.

Karachi: Four matches took place in the ongoing Master Oil Inter Club Cricket Tournament, organized by the Regional Cricket Association Karachi in collaboration with Master Oil Lubricant.

At Agha Khan Gymkhana, Meer Afzal’s impressive knock of 151 runs, featuring 14 boundaries and 5 sixes, helped Agha Khan Gymkhana secure a dominant 139-run victory over Surjani Sports. Agha Khan Gymkhana posted 339/7 in 40 overs, with contributions from Saud Islam (84) and Waqar Johar (35). Surjani Sports were bowled out for 200 in 30.5 overs, despite Maaz Ali’s 57. Javed Mansoor, M. Ayaz, Hamid Ali, and Adil Rehmat each took two wickets.

In the second match at KGA Ground, Muhammad Hussain Cricket Club defeated Memon Gymkhana by 92 runs. Test cricketer Sohail Khan led with 60 runs, supported by Arif Khan’s 55. Memon Gymkhana were dismissed for 140, with Naved Ahmed claiming 4 wickets and Yasir Hussain 3.

Steel Town Gymkhana edged out Asifabad Sports by 21 runs at Student Ground. Steel Town Gymkhana posted 204, thanks to Naveed Anjum’s 89. Asifabad Sports fell short, managing 183, with M. Shakeel taking 3 wickets.

In the final match, Premier Sports defeated New Star Cricket Club by 56 runs at Pak Star Ground. Jawad Jo Ji top-scored with 76 for Premier Sports, while Amanullah’s 4-wicket haul helped restrict New Star CC to 143 in response to Premier Sports’ 199.

Lahore: Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA) Chairman Engr Lt Gen (Retd.) Sajjad Ghani visited Mohmand Dam, a multipurpose project being constructed across River Swat in Mohmand District of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and reviewed the ongoing construction activities carried out at the key sites of the project.

During his visit, the Chairman was briefed about the construction in progress at different sites of Mohmand Dam Project that include Diversion Tunnels Outlet Works and Downstream Coffer Dam, Powerhouse Excavation and Shaft Access Tunnel, Spillway Concrete Works, Main Dam, Pit and Plinth Excavation/Concrete Works, Downstream Coffer Dam and Diversion Tunnels Inlet Structure, Power Intake on-going works, according to WAPDA spokesman here Monday.

Sajjad Ghani was accompanied by the General Manager/Project Director Mohmand Dam Project with his team and representatives of the Consultants and Contractors during his visit.

He also presided over a progress review meeting to meet the timeline in accordance with schedule for completion of the project at the project office with WAPDA team, the consultants and the contractors. The matters related to construction in progress on Upstream and Downstream Coffer Dams, Dam Plinth, Foot Print and Pit Excavation Powerhouse, Power Intake/Tunnel Quarry Development and Large Scale Triaxial Results and Spillway Concreting were discussed in detail to achieve the target of timely completion scheduled in 2026-27.

It is important to note that WAPDA is constructing Mohmand Dam Project across River Swat in Mohmand District of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. It is the 5th highest concrete-face-rock-fill dam (CFRD) in the world and first highest CFRD in Pakistan.

Mohmand Dam will store water for agriculture, control floods, supply water to Peshawar for urban use and generate green, clean and economically affordable hydel electricity. On completion, Mohmand Dam will store 1.29 MAF of water to irrigate 18,237 acres of new land in Mohmand and Charsadda and supplement irrigation supplies to 160,000 acres of existing land. The project has an installed power capacity of 800 MW with annual energy generation of 2.86 billion units of electricity. It will also provide 300 million gallons water per day to Peshawar for drinking purpose. Annual benefits of the project are estimated at Rs. 51.6 billion.

The Larkana Police has successfully saved the citizen Muhammad Sharif belongs from Perzada Colony Larkana Hyderi Police Station traced him from going to Kashmore district by preventing him from being abducted through modern technical system.

The said citizen was continuously talking on the phone in Kashmore district, on which the Larkana police got suspicious and contacted the citizen by tracking out the location, the citizen said that he was going to Kashmore in the guise of business.
