Dera ismail khan:Additional Deputy Commissioner, South Waziristan Lower Khalid Qayyum on Thursday has underlined the need for ensuring effective coordination to prevent cervical cancer disease.
He was chairing an awareness session on cervical cancer prevention, which was attended by principals of private educational institutions.
The session focused on raising awareness about cervical cancer, its prevention, timely detection and necessary precautionary measures.
The district health officer, South Waziristan Lower and other officials of the health department also attended the session.
The participants were briefed on the importance of early detection and preventive measures, while school principals were urged to educate female students and their parents about cervical cancer and available preventive measures.
Speaking on the occasion, Additional Deputy Commissioner Khalid Qayyum stressed the need to promote the message ‘let’s protect our daughters’ and create greater awareness at the community level.
He said effective coordination between educational institutions and the Health Department was essential for making the awareness campaign successful.
The participants expressed their commitment to extending full cooperation to the campaign and helping convey the important health message to students, parents and the general public.
