Ayaz calls youth Pakistan’s valuable asset, stresses skills, employment opportunities


Islamabad: Speaker of National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq Wednesday said that the youth were Pakistan’s most valuable asset and stressed the need to provide them with better opportunities for education, skills development and employment.



In his message on the occasion of International Youth Day, the Speaker said Pakistani youth possessed immense potential and had brought laurels to the country in various fields across the world. He said harnessing the potential of young people could put the country on the path of sustainable development and prosperity.



He emphasized that equipping the youth with modern technology and artificial intelligence skills was vital for Pakistan’s progress. Ayaz Sadiq said the National Assembly was committed to legislation aimed at empowering the youth and ensuring their welfare.



He said the Youth Internship Programme was providing young people an opportunity to gain exposure to parliamentary affairs, while the Young Parliamentarians Forum was playing an active role in promoting democratic awareness among youth.



The Speaker said the participation of young people in the parliamentary process was essential for strengthening democracy.



He said that the Young Parliamentarians Forum was also actively highlighting issues confronting the youth and serving as a bridge between young people and Parliament.



He appreciated the government’s efforts to provide dignified employment opportunities to the youth on a priority basis. The Speaker also termed the government’s launch of Pakistan’s first National Youth Employment Policy a commendable initiative. ‘Empowering the youth for Pakistan’s bright future is our collective responsibility, ‘ Ayaz Sadiq said.
