Islamabad: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif met the Minister for Energy of the Republic of Belarus, Dzenis Maroz, who is currently on an official visit to Pakistan.
During the meeting, both sides expressed confidence that the outcomes of the Joint Ministerial Commission (JMC) would translate into tangible benefits for both nations and further consolidate the growing partnership between Pakistan and Belarus.
While welcoming the Belarusian Minister and his delegation here at the PM Office, the prime minister conveyed his warm greetings and good wishes for President Alexander Lukashenko. He fondly recalled President Lukashenko’s visit to Islamabad in November 2024, as well as his own visit to Belarus in April 2025, that further strengthened bilateral ties across all spheres of shared interest, a PM’s Office news release said.
The prime minister expressed satisfaction over the productive deliberations during the 9th Session of the Joint Ministerial Commission (JMC) held here. During the session, both sides reviewed the entire spectrum of bilateral cooperation, including in trade, industry, agriculture, banking, labour, transport, and energy sectors.
The visiting minister thanked the prime minister for the gracious welcome, and conveyed the warm regards of the Belarusian leadership.
He briefed the prime minister on the substantive progress made during the JMC meeting. Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to further deepen bilateral coordination to materialize cooperation across all sectors agreed upon by the leadership of the two countries.
