RAWALPINDI: A musical night “Azadi Ke Rang Suron Ke Sung” was organized at Punjab Arts Council to celebrate the Pakistan Diamond Jubilee celebrations.
Naheed Manzoor and Director of Arts Council Waqar Ahmed were the chief guests of the musical night.
While speaking on the occasion, Naheed Manzoor said that the folk songs of Punjab had their unique place in the country’s culture, in which the traditions, simplicity and sincere love of the people of Punjab were hidden. However, the artists of Punjab had preserved their folk songs, tunes and uniqueness in a prosperous way, she said, adding that today’s young generation was also benefiting from this.
Manzoor said that PAC also significantly promoted the culture of other provinces and federal units.
Addressing the event, Director of Arts Council Waqar Ahmad said that a nation’s identity was its civilization and culture, and only those nations prosper who were connected to their culture.
Punjab Arts Council had provided a platform to the youth in the fields of drama, music, fine arts and literature, he added.
In the musical night, Dr Mubashir Hafeez, Laila Jatti, Hekmat Awan, Ishaq Malik Ghori, Samina Khalid, Mohsin Pasha and Hamza Ali received a standing ovation from the audience.
The singers presented beautiful songs from all provinces, including Azad Jammu and Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan.
