Commissioner visits school for the blind

Bahawalpur: Commissioner Bahawalpur Division Musarrat Jabeen visited the Government Secondary School for the Blind in Bahawalpur.

She inspected the school's classrooms, computer lab, and technical workshop. She interacted with the students and reviewed the teaching activities. Subsequently, Commissioner Musarrat Jabeen visited the Government Degree College of Special Education in Bahawalpur. She assessed the ongoing teaching activities in the college's classrooms, art gallery, and computer lab, and inquired about the facilities available to the students.

Three drug pushers arrested, drugs recovered

Sheikhupura: The police here on Thursday arrested three drug peddlers and recovered hashish from their possessions in limits of Ferozwala Police Station.

A police team led by Station Police Officer (SHO), Wali Hassan Pasha apprehended a drug pusher identified as Zulfiqar Khan and recovered hashish 1500 grams, the police spokesman said.

The team arrested Muhammad Niqash and recovered 1000 grams hashish while Hashish 2000 grams were recovered from Faisal Abbas, he added

The police registered separate cases against the accused and launched further investigations.

Four held for possessing illegal weapons

Sargodha: Shahpur city police conducted raids in different areas of the town and arrested four people for possessing illegal weapons and displaying them in certain cases.

According to a police spokesman, those arrested were identified as Imran, Abdullah, Saleem, and Waleed. The police recovered three 30-bore pistols, four guns, bullets and a dagger from them.

Untoo grieves over demise of Srinagar-based human right activist, Bakshi

Mirpur (ajk): In Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), Veteran Kashmiri Human Rights Activist, Muhammad Ahsaan Untoo, has visited the residence of Shakeel Bakshi , Showkat Bakshi and their other family members in occupied Srinagar for condolences on the sad demise of their father Bakshi Gulam Muhmmad.

Sacrifices of Bakshi' family were almost comprising lives' sacrifices for Kashmir freedom moment to get motherland freed from Indian yoke, said a report received from across the Line of Control (LoC).

"Shakeel was in Jail custody for life. Unidentified Gunman firing on Shakeel Bakshi in the year 2019 . Shakeel Bakshi is presently supremo of Islamic students league in IIOJK. Showkat Ahmad Bakhshi is vice chairman Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front He has also sacrificed half life in Jail custody and faced Hundred cases in Jammu Kashmir courts", the report added.

Muhammad Ahsaan Untoo also visited the residence of Farooq Ahmad Sodagar and expressed deep shock and solidarity with their whole family on the demise of Farooq Sahabs' mother .Farooq Ahmad Sodagar sahab and his whole family is very loyal to Mirwaiz e Kashmir and devoted whole life for the noble cause", Untoo said on this occasion, the report added.

FD launches campaign to ensure quality food items during Ramazan

Kohat: Under the public agenda of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Chief Minister, the Food Department (FD) has launched a campaign in the district to ensure affordable and quality food items to the people during Ramazan.

Director Food, Musarat Zaman, District Food Controller, Gulab Gul Khan held a detailed meeting with traders and related businessmen. In the meeting, discussions were held on controlling factors like artificial inflation, hoarding and illegal profiteering during the holy month to provide relief to the people.

Special consultations were also held with the presidents of grocery stores, bakers, butchers, and poultry vendors to ensure the availability of all essential items at reasonable prices.

Malik Imam ud Din Shoqeen inaugurates solar system at Tando Adam college

Hyderabad: Former Senator and Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leader Malik Imam ud Din Shoqeen emphasized that the youth is the future of the country and could play a vital role in overcoming economic challenges.

He expressed this as the chief guest at the inauguration of a solar system at Government New Aligarh Postgraduate College, Tando Adam.

During the event, students who performed their best in the Sindh College Games and intra-class competitions were awarded trophies and medals. In their speeches, students expressed gratitude to the chief guest for the installation of the solar system, which would provide much-needed facilities.

Principal Professor Muhammad Mubeen Wasan and others lauded Shoqeen's contributions. They stated that he was a valuable asset to the people of Tando Adam, serving the community selflessly. The college administration presented him with an honorary shield and a traditional Ajrak as a token of appreciation.

In his speech, Malik Imam ud Din Shoqeen expressed gratitude and stated that he was undertaking these initiatives for the pleasure of Allah. He vowed to continue supporting the institution whenever needed. He advised students to respect their teachers and parents to achieve success. Later, he planted a tree in the college premises.
