Peshawar:A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been signed between Krafters, a tech based platform engaged in business establishment and development services for home based workers and IDEA, to collaborate towards empowering youth through development of enterprise and livelihood.

The agreement was signed by Syed Zahid Ali Shah, CEO Kraftes and Ismail Mohammad, Project Manager TREE project of IDEA, an organization that has been working in the development sector for last many years and which encourages development and acceleration of new ideas.

'Through this partnership, Krafters and IDEA will embark on a journey towards sustainable entrepreneurship and youth development under the HUB app-based initiative,' said Syed Zahid Ali Shah

He added that Krafters, which boasts a network of over 9,000 home based workers, has also developed a digital App to guide individuals towards business establishment and business development through skill development, capacity building, startups, and market linkages.

Under the partnership, the beneficiaries of IDEA TREE project will be engaged initially, setting the foundation for sustainable development in diverse sectors, including financial inclusion, digital marketing and entrepreneurship.

Key highlights of the training include onboarding of skilled youth onto Hub portal, offering guidance on business registration, financial inclusion, value chains, and market linkages.

Specialized training sessions will be arranged for the first batch of 50 youth, focusing on enterprise development, product innovation, and marketing strategies.

'This partnership marks a significant step towards building resilient businesses and creating brighter futures for youth by offering opportunities and driving transformation,' Zahid Ali Shah emphasized.

It is noteworthy that Krafters has recently extended its outreach to the highly marginalized transgender community by offering training in skill development and digital marketing.

This step toward financial inclusion aims to provide equal opportunities for transgender individuals, enabling them to learn valuable skills such as embroidery, stitching, beautician training, and cooking.

Additionally, transgender trainees will be equipped with e-commerce skills to continue and expand their businesses as home-based workers. The app based initiative of Krafters is a step towards the 5e framework of the government of Pakistan towards empowerment, e-governance and equity.

Faisalabad:The Faisalabad Electric Supply Company (FESCO) is utilizing all available resources to eliminate loose and hanging electric wires in all eight bazaars of Clock Tower (Ghanta Ghar) Chowk to ensure the safety of lives and property of the public.

FESCO Chief Engineer (Operation) Muhammad Saeed said this while reviewing the work of removing hanging electricity wires and maintaining transformers in Ghanta Ghar Chowk here on Wednesday.

He said that FESCO was working to install modern electricity systems in the bazaars for which funds have been sought from the Deputy Commissioner Faisalabad to ensure underground electricity supply in bazaars and markets around the chowk.

Furthermore, on the instructions of Chief Executive FESCO Muhammad Amir, the company is combing the hanging wires, replacing damaged wires and transformer de-fitting sets as well as jumpers, etc. at its own expense.

He said that eight teams of FESCO city and Civil Lines Subdivisions are working to fix the hanging and untidy electric wires in various markets and goal bazaars which will be completed within the next few days. This step will not only ensure uninterrupted supply of electricity to the consumers but it will also enhance the beauty of these markets and bazaars and help in eliminating problems like fire eruption due to short circuiting, he added.

Director Public Relations Muhammad Saeed Raza, Additional Director Operations Ghulam Nabi Memon, Xen Civil Lines Waqas Rashid, SDO Civil Lines Shahsawar, and SDO city Madam Saba Swati were also present on the occasion.

Faisalabad:The police on Wednesday claimed to have arrested three dacoits and recovered 12 motorcycles, cash and other items from their possession.

A police spokesman said here on Wednesday that anti vehicle lifting squad, on a tip-off, conducted raids and succeeded in arresting a gang, including its ringleader Abdul Wahhab, and accomplices Arsalan and Muhammad Afnan. The accused were wanted to the police in various cases of dacoity, robbery in addition to lifting vehicles and snatching bikes.

The police recovered 12 motorcycles, one rickshaw worth Rs1.491 million, cash, weapons, mobile phones and other items, he added.

Wah cantt:The 2nd International Conference titled "Globalization, Inclusiveness, and Diversity in English Studies (GIDES)" here on Wednesday concluded at the Wah University.

The English department of the University in collaboration with the Higher Education Commission (HEC), hosted the two-day conference.

Vice Chancellor, the University of Wah, Prof. Dr. Jameel-Un Nabi as chief guest emphasized the significance of collaborative academic efforts in addressing the challenges posed by globalization in contemporary society.

Throughout the conference, parallel sessions allowed participants to dive deeper into specific themes, including innovative teaching methodologies, the role of literature in social change, and the impact of globalization on language and identity.

The event concluded with a certificate distribution ceremony that recognized the contributions of all participants. Over five international and eight national experts attended the conference.

The conference created a vibrant platform for dialogue and collaboration, further advancing academic discourse in an increasingly globalized world.

Mansehra:A monthly performance meeting on good governance Wednesday held under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Mansehra, Khalid Iqbal and reviewed performance of the Pakistan Citizen Portal, "Ikhtiyar Awam Ka," and other online portals.

During the meeting discussions focused on the public complaints received through these platforms and the progress made in resolving them.

The Deputy Commissioner directed all officials to ensure the timely and effective resolution of public complaints and to strictly adhere to the principles of good governance. He emphasized that online portals are an excellent medium for addressing public grievances, and all departments must make the swift resolution of complaints their top priority.

The district administration of Mansehra is actively working to enhance public service delivery and promote good governance. Regular meetings are being held to ensure the effective resolution of public issues and streamline service delivery.

Peshawar:The Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has released Rs 500 million in compensation for the victims of Miranshah Bazaar in North Waziristan, following the efforts of Special Assistant to the Chief Minister for Relief, Haji Naek Muhammad.

According to a press released from the office of PDMA Director General Asfandyar Khattak, the funds have been sent to the Deputy Commissioner of North Waziristan. These funds will be distributed among the victims of Miranshah Bazaar, who were affected during Operation Zarb-e-Azb, in accordance with established guidelines.

Special Assistant Haji Naek Muhammad stated that the provincial government is fully committed to addressing the damages sustained by Miranshah and Mir Ali bazaars during the operation.

He highlighted that compensation had already been provided to victims of both bazaars in the past and assured that additional funds will soon be released to cover those still awaiting relief.

Haji Naek Muhammad reiterated the government's commitment to ensuring that the distribution of funds remains transparent and merit-based.

He affirmed that clear instructions have been issued to the relevant authorities to maintain fairness and accountability in the disbursement process.
