Bahawalpur: Commissioner, Bahawalpur Division, Ms Musarrat Jabeen here on Sunday visited the Zoo and inspected condition of animals there. It is pertinent to mention here that few days back, news reports were published and aired in a section of media that a Bengal tiger was found suffering from cataract at Bahawalpur Zoo. The seven-year-old Bengal tiger had been suffering from eye disease for the last four years and he had lost his eye due to cataract. The Commissioner along with Deputy Commissioner Dr Farhan Farooque arrived at Bahawalpur Zoo and inspected the condition of animals, quality of food being provided to animals and cleanliness situation. She directed the authorities concerned to bring further improvement in facilities being provided to visitors. She also directed the doctors at the Bahawalpur Zoo to regularly medically examine, besides taking immediate steps to medically treat any animal if it was found infected with any type of disease.
