Bahawalpur: Commissioner, Bahawalpur Division, Ms Musarrat Jabeen here on Sunday visited the Zoo and inspected condition of animals there. It is pertinent to mention here that few days back, news reports were published and aired in a section of media that a Bengal tiger was found suffering from cataract at Bahawalpur Zoo. The seven-year-old Bengal tiger had been suffering from eye disease for the last four years and he had lost his eye due to cataract. The Commissioner along with Deputy Commissioner Dr Farhan Farooque arrived at Bahawalpur Zoo and inspected the condition of animals, quality of food being provided to animals and cleanliness situation. She directed the authorities concerned to bring further improvement in facilities being provided to visitors. She also directed the doctors at the Bahawalpur Zoo to regularly medically examine, besides taking immediate steps to medically treat any animal if it was found infected with any type of disease.

Multan: The Child Protection Bureau(CPWB) has intensified its anti-begging initiatives and rescue operations,taking 13 children into protective custody last week.This was disclosed by CPWB spokesperson Naveed Mukhtar.

The children rescued included beggars, runaways, missing persons, and other vulnerable individuals.

Rescue operations were conducted at various locations across the city, with additional support from the Child Help Line (1121), which received calls regarding children in need of protection.

He stressed as part of its ongoing efforts, the Bureau distributed awareness pamphlets to educate the public about child protection and the prevention of child trafficking.

Faisalabad: The police have busted four dacoit gangs by arresting their 10 active members and recovering nine motorcycles, cash and other items from them.

A police spokesman said here on Sunday that Rodala Road police arrested three dacoits including a junkyard owner and recovered two motorcycles, cash, mobile phones and illicit weapons from them.

Similarly, Rail Bazaar police arrested ring leader of Laddo gang Ali Sher and his accomplice Shakeel, along with looted motorcycle rickshaw, electricity wires worth Rs. 0.9 million, cash, mobile phones and illegal weapons.

Meanwhile, Madina Town police arrested three dacoits including Muhammad Usman Riaz, Zohaib and Sanwal from Graveyard Mor near Pipewala bridge and recovered three motorcycles, three pistols, cash and mobile phones from them.

Likewise, Thikriwala police arrested three dacoits including Muhammad Hamza, Sufiyan Akram and Aftab Ramzan, along with three motorcycles, illicit weapons, cash and mobile phones from them.

The police sent the accused behind bars while further investigation was under progress, he added.

sargodha: Faisalabad Electric Supply Company (FESCO), Sargodha Circle caught 15 power pilferers and got registered 19 cases during the current drive against power pilferage. According to FESCO theft report issued here on Sunday that task force teams on the direction of Superintendent Engineer raided various areas of the circle and caught 15 power pilferers. He informed that during the last 24 hours, the authorities caught one pilferer from Sargodha City, booked three consumers from Shahpur area, whereas, five power thieves were caught red-handed while stealing electricity through main electricity lines and meter tampering.

Peshawar: : In a road mishap in Abbottabad on Sunday, an Alto car fell into a deep ravine, resulting in the death of a woman.

Police said that the incident occurred near Soori Bridge in the jurisdiction of Thana Bagnotar.

A woman, resident of Lower Kehyal and manager of a private bank by profession, succumbed to her injuries after being taken to the hospital.

Upon receiving the information, the rescue medical team immediately reached the site and transferred the injured to the hospital where the woman passed away from her wounds.

Rawalpindi: Rawalpindi District Police have busted two bike lifting and street criminal gangs and arrested their five members on recovery of a stolen motorcycle, Rs 68,000, weapons and other items from their possession, said a police spokesman here on Sunday.

He informed that R.A.Bazar police in an operation arrested two accused members of a street criminal and bike lifting gang and recovered a stolen motorcycle, Rs 20,000, weapon and other items from their possession.

In another raid, Taxila police rounded up three members of a street criminal gang and recovered Rs 48,000 and other items from their possession.

Superintendent of Police (SP) Potohar directed the police officers to accelerate ongoing operation against bike lifters and street criminals.
