Peshawar: The Peshawar Electrical Supply Company (PESCO) has announced scheduled power shutdowns due to maintenance work on transmission lines and grid stations.

According to a notification issued here on Friday power supply would remain suspended from

DI Khan-Kulachi Transmission Line on January 20, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., affecting consumers in Kulachi, Tank, Daraban, Wana, and feeders connected to Gomal Zam Dam grid.

Similarly, power supply would be suspended on January 19, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. affecting consumers connected to the feeders of Silver Lake, Gujar Steel, Neelum Steel 2, Neelam Paper, Venus Carpet, Syntronics 2, and Pak Accumulator 2, 3.

The spokesman of PESCO sought public cooperation for the temporary inconvenience.

Abbottabad: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Composite Circle Abbottabad Friday arrested Nazir Awan, a key suspect involved in human trafficking, from Abbottabad.

The arrest was made on the directives of DG FIA Ahmed Ishaq Jahangir as part of an ongoing crackdown against individuals engaged in illegal human smuggling.

Nazir Awan was on the wanted list for human trafficking and was apprehended following a confidential tip-off. Investigations revealed that the suspect had been deceiving innocent citizens and facilitating their illegal travel abroad. Despite multiple attempts to capture him, the operation culminated successfully with his arrest.

During the raid, FIA team recovered substantial evidences, including travel documents, employment contracts, passports, and visa copies, from the suspect's possession. The FIA has initiated an investigation into the matter and is conducting further raids to apprehend other individuals involved in the network.

According to the Director of Peshawar Zone, every possible resource is being employed to arrest the culprits. Intelligence-led operations remain a priority, and the crackdown against human trafficking continues unabated.

In this regard, Additional Assistant Commissioner(AAC) Hassan Shah paid surprise visits to shops selling milk and yogurt in the market.

According to the district administration, the AAC, along with the livestock department staff, collected samples from the shops and conducted immediate laboratory tests.

Sargodha:The Faisalabad Electric Supply Company (FESCO) caught six power pilferers during an ongoing crackdown, here on Thursday.

According to official sources, a task force team raided various areas of the district and caught six accused involved in electricity theft from main lines and meter tampering. They were identified as Rafaqat, Riasat, Sadaqat and others.

Police registered cases against them.
