Islamabad: The Pakistan Golf Federation (PGF) announced on Sunday it will host two Asian Development Tour (ADT) golf championships at Rumanza Golf and Country Club in Multan this September.

According to a press release, the last ADT event in Pakistan was held in Lahore in October 2019, marking a successful chapter in the nation's golfing history.

The PGF is eager to continue promoting professional golf by hosting another ADT event in Multan, showcasing Pakistan's potential as a top destination for international golf tournaments.

In an exciting addition, Pakistan will host two more ADT events in September 2025: the CNS ADT Open Golf Championship and the Pakistan ADT Open Golf Championship.

These tournaments reflect the country's growing presence in the global golf scene and its commitment to providing opportunities for professional players.

The Pakistan Golf Federation (PGF) expresses its sincere thanks to Rumanza Golf and Country Club and DHA Multan for their generous support in sponsoring the championship. Their contributions are vital in making this prestigious event happen and in promoting golf as a sport in Pakistan.

Meanwhile talking to reporter, she said that today, young students from five different schools and education institutions belonging to all the provinces of the country including Sindh, Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK), Baluchistan and Islamabad Capital presented their business models and business-related ideas, which reflect their excellent entrepreneurial skills and business capabilities and such talented youth in Pakistan are testifying to the bright future of the country.

The British High Commissioner said that in an annual inter-school business competition held here today in British High Commission Islamabad, students from different education institutions demonstrated their full potential and in this, especially girl students expressed their talents in the best way.

The envoy said that the British High Commission Islamabad has already started various programs to promote girls' education and entrepreneurship in Pakistan and more programs are being planned in this regard in the future.

She said that the private sector, especially Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs), play a very important role in any economy and such programs will improve the national economy by promoting SMEs in Pakistan.

In today's modern world, start-ups, innovation, and entrepreneurial skills are the backbone of any emerging economy and especially to increase the role of youth in the future economy, these skills must be taught to them, she said.

The High Commissioner said that there is a lot of potential in economic and trade relations between the United Kingdom and Pakistan and there are vast opportunities for promoting future bilateral trade on both sides.

She said that at present, the volume of bilateral trade between the two countries is 4.4 billion pounds, which is much less than its potential and it needs to be enhanced in the future.

The British envoy said that the United Kingdom has historical social, economic and cultural relations with Pakistan, which are growing day by day.

At present, 1.6 million Pakistanis are present as the Pakistan diaspora in the UK, which plays the significant role of a cultural bridge between the two countries and is also our cultural heritage.

Enterprise Challenge Pakistan (Enterprise Challenge Pakistan) is an annual inter-school business competition, a joint initiative from Prince's Trust International and SEED Ventures. Now in its eighth year, the programme enables school students to learn practical business skills through coaching, mentoring and an online business simulation game. Enterprise Challenge Pakistan received a mention in Forbes as one of the 'Five Leading Programs Supporting the Next Generation of Entrepreneurs'.

The event will host 100 guests from a diverse range of sectors. The event commences at 3: 00 p.m. and will conclude at 6: 00 p.m with the speech from the High commissioner and the winner.

Islamabad: Four people lost their lives on Sunday in a crash between a bus and a tractor trolley on Burewala Road in Chichawatni.

According to a private news channel and rescue sources, two other passengers were injured in the accident.

The rescue team had taken the injured to the hospital along with the bodies of the deceased.

Islamabad: Senator Irfan Siddiqui, a central leader of PML-N and parliamentary party leader in the Senate, described the death of Journalist Javed Shahzad as a significant loss for responsible journalism and praised his commitment to preserving the noble principles of the field.

Visiting the residence of the late journalist, Senator Siddiqui extended his condolences to Shahzad's family and offered Fateha.

Speaking with the deceased's brother and sons, Siddiqui fondly remembered Javed Shahzad as an exceptionally kind and compassionate individual, with whom he had been in daily contact.

'He was an honest and responsible journalist who faithfully performed his professional duties,' said Senator Siddiqui. 'Javed Shahzad's name will be remembered as a diligent journalist who firmly believed in the noble values of journalism.'

Islamabad: Chairman Capital Development Authority (CDA), Muhammad Ali Randhawa, was informed that over 90 per cent of the road infrastructure work in Sector C-14 has been completed.

Randhawa along with Member Engineering and other relevant officers, visited Sector C-14 to review the progress of ongoing development work in detail.

The relevant officers briefed the chairman that more than 50 per cent of the drainage and sewerage work has also been accomplished while the remaining development work will be completed soon.

During the briefing, it was highlighted that Sector C-14 is a prime residential project situated at a prime location in Islamabad, nestled at the foothills of Margalla Hills National Park.

Chairman Muhammad Ali Randhawa directed that the pace of development work in Sector C-14 should be further accelerated.

He emphasized that the possession of plots would be handed over to the allottees upon payment of the final installment.

Chairman CDA also directed that the highest standards of quality must be ensured in the development work of Sector C-14.

Chairman CDA further stated that obstacles in the development work of other sectors in Islamabad should be resolved promptly.

He directed that construction activities in new sectors should also be expedited to ensure timely completion.

In light of the growing population, Chairman Muhammad Ali Randhawa highlighted that CDA is planning to launch more sectors in future to meet the housing needs of Islamabad's citizens.
