Islamabad: The price of 24 karat per tola gold decreased by Rs.700 and was sold at Rs 275,000 on Monday against its sale at Rs 275,700 on previous trading day, All Sindh Sarafa Jewellers Association reported.

The price of 10 grams of 24 karat gold also decreased by Rs.600 to Rs.235,768 from Rs 236,368 whereas that of 10 gram 22 karat also went down to Rs.216,121 from Rs 216,671.

The prices of per tola and ten gram silver remained constant at Rs3,350 and Rs. Rs.2,872.08 respectively.

The price of gold in the international market decreased by $7 to $2,632 from $2639, the Association reported.

Islamabad: Chief of the Naval Staff (CNS), Admiral Naveed Ashraf has commended the Sindh Government’s continued financial support toward the development and progression of Cadet College Sanghar.

Addressing at the 28th Parents’ Day ceremony at Cadet College Sanghar, the CNS said the Naval Chief lauded the efforts of the teaching faculty and administration for providing excellent training facilities to the cadets and for their outstanding achievements in the annual board results, said a press release issued by Directorate General of Public Relations (Pak Navy) here Monday.

He also appreciated the efforts of HQ COMKAR in ensuring high standards of academic excellence and character building at Cadet College Sanghar.

Earlier, the Principal of the College, Commodore Zeeshan Ali, presented the Annual Report – 2024 and highlighted the exceptional performance of cadets in academics, sports, and co-curricular activities.

Later, the CNS presented prizes to the winners for their outstanding overall performance during the year. Ex-Cadet Faheem Ahmed and Ex-Cadet Sahib Khan clinched the highest prizes of the Stick of Honour and the Badge of Honour, respectively. Ex-Cadet Junaid Babar was awarded the Quaid-e-Azam Medal for Best Academic Performance.

Meanwhile, Cadet Muhammad Aziz received the award for Best Sportsman, and Cadet Muhammad Ali was declared Best Debater for 2024.

The event featured a parade, PT show, Tiger Squad drill, and tent pegging, which were thoroughly enjoyed by all attendees, and the cadets’ performance was widely lauded. The Chief Guest also visited Science, Arts, and Cultural Exhibition presented by the cadets and appreciated their efforts and hard work.

Earlier, upon the arrival of the Chief Guest, a smartly turned-out contingent of cadets presented a salute and the Guard of Honour.

The ceremony was attended by senior civil and military officials, members of the board of governors, and a large number of cadets’ parents.

Islamabad: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif on Monday directed for taking of strict legal action against all human trafficking groups in the country to set an example, besides called for immediate legal action to confiscate the properties and assets of human traffickers.

The prime minister chaired a review meeting on measures taken against human trafficking in the country, PM Office Media Wing said in a press release.

The prime minister appreciated the recent actions taken by the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) against government officials involved in human trafficking.

Following disciplinary actions, he further directed that strict punitive measures should also be taken against facilitators.

In the meeting, the prime minister was briefed on the measures taken against human trafficking, progress in the legal actions against facilitators, and in legislation for the eradication of human trafficking.

The meeting was attended by Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar, Federal Minister for Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan Engineer Amir Muqam, and senior officials from the relevant departments.

The prime minister said the prosecution process against all individuals involved in this heinous trade should be made more effective, adding the top lawyers should be appointed for prosecution after consultation with the Ministry of Law and Justice.

The prime minister said the Foreign Office should contact relevant countries to expedite the extradition of Pakistanis running human trafficking operations abroad.

He further directed that the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, in collaboration with the Ministry of Interior, launch an awareness campaign to educate the public about using only legal channels for overseas employment.

He said the country should promote technical training institutions that could provide certified professionals to the international market according to modern requirements, adding that the screening process for individuals traveling abroad at airports should be made more effective.

Islamabad: Young squash sensation, Sohail Adnan made the nation proud as he clinched the U-13 title at the British Junior Open Squash Championship 2025.

According to information made available here by Pakistan Squash Federation (PSF) on Monday, Sohail outlasted Egypt’s Elmoghazy 3-2 in a heart-pounding final, with game scores of 11-5, 5-11, 6-11, 11-7, 11-5.

This momentous victory marks Pakistan’s first title in the British Junior Open in 18 years, reviving memories of the country’s golden era in squash. The last Pakistani to win at the tournament was Nasir Iqbal in 2007. Sohail’s determination and exceptional skill captivated the audience, leaving them on the edge of their seats during the electrifying match.

Islamabad: Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) Senator Irfan Siddiqui, spokesperson for the government’s coalition dialogue committee, has urged Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) to show seriousness in ongoing talks.

Talking to a private news channel on Sunday, Siddiqui said PTI’s frequent changes in statements risk derailing the dialogue process.

He called on the PTI to submit a written charter of demands, as agreed in the communiqu© from previous meetings, to ensure clarity and avoid misunderstandings.

He emphasized that the government is engaging in the talks openly and urged PTI to refrain from making contradictory remarks.

Siddiqui also stated that the dialogue is separate from legal proceedings and should not be influenced by court decisions.
