Lahore: The Virtual Center for Child Safety swiftly responded to a case involving a three-year-old lost child found near Data Darbar Lahore and successfully reunited her with her parents.

According to details, a police officer discovered the young girl outside Data Darbar, who could only state her name. The officer immediately called the emergency helpline 15 to report the case to the Virtual Center for Child Safety. Acting promptly, the Virtual Center for Child Safety dispatched a police team to the location, which took the child into protective custody and transferred her to Tahaffuz Manzil. Meanwhile, at Data Darbar Police Station, a missing child report was filed by a distressed parent. The police shared the child's details with the parents, who were able to identify and confirm their relationship. After completing the necessary verification process, the child was safely handed over to her parents.

The Spokesperson for the Punjab Safe Cities Authority urged citizens to immediately report any lost or abandoned children by calling 15 and pressing 3 to notify the Virtual Center for Child Safety.

Lahore: On the direction of Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif, the provincial government has released an amount of Rs 340 million for the purchase of medicines for Mayo Hospital.

According to a handout issued here on Friday, the Finance Department has granted permission to reallocate funds originally designated for pay and allowances of vacant posts in the hospital. This step has been taken to ensure an uninterrupted supply of essential medicines.

Despite the availability of additional funds in Mayo Hospital's budget, they were not utilized efficiently, prompting the government to take immediate action. The Finance Department has now issued orders for the reallocation of these funds to address the shortage of medicines and improve patient care.

Lahore: The Home Department Punjab has released a list of banned organisations as well as unregistered charitable institutions and asked the public not to donate to unregistered and banned charities.

It is important to note that under the Anti-Terrorism Act 1997, providing any form of support to banned organizations is a criminal offense.

According to a spokesperson for the Home Department Punjab, those assisting banned organisations engaged in terrorism and anti-state activities will be subject to legal consequences.

Additionally, it is mandatory for charitable institutions in Punjab to register with the Punjab Charity Commission (PCC). The Home Department urged citizens to donate their Zakat, charity and donations only to registered organisations listed under the PCC.

The spokesperson added all registered organisations can be verified through the QR code on their certificate. He further said that citizens must ensure their donations reach deserving individuals rather than terrorists. Citizens are encouraged to report any fraudulent organisations involved in terrorism, anti-state activities or personal gains to the home department. Lahore: The Punjab government, under its Green Punjab initiative, is set to launch the Heal Pakistan - Green Sustainability and Climate Change -- conference.

Led by NESPAK in collaboration with Synergy Inc., the event aims to address climate change challenges, promote sustainable development and build a more resilient future for Pakistan.

The two-day conference will take place on March 12-13, 2025, at Pearl Continental (PC) Hotel, Lahore, bringing together key stakeholders committed to climate action and sustainability. As the leading partner, NESPAK has taken charge of organising the high-level conference, which will host policymakers, industry experts, environmentalists and urban planners. The discussions will focus on sustainable infrastructure, climate adaptation strategies and policy frameworks to guide Pakistan toward a greener and more sustainable future.

Lahore: Punjab Health Minister Khawaja Salman Rafique has said that Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif is focusing all her attention on improving the health sector, and cooperation with Iran will further strengthen bilateral relations.

He expressed these views during his visit to the Iranian Consulate on Friday, where he was welcomed by Iranian Consul General Mehran Mowahid. The minister presented a bouquet and sweets to the Consul General as a gesture of goodwill.

The meeting focused on enhancing collaboration in pediatric heart surgery, facilities for Iranian students in Pakistan, and other matters of mutual interest. The Health Minister highlighted Punjab’s priorities in the health sector on behalf of the Chief Minister.

“Pakistan shares deep neighborly, educational, and spiritual ties with Iran. We admire Iran’s excellent healthcare system and welcome their cooperation in pediatric heart surgeries in Punjab,” said Khawaja Salman Rafique. He added that under Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s leadership, Pakistan is planning land and sea routes for enhanced connectivity with Iran.

The minister welcomed Iran’s proposal for collaboration in pediatric heart surgeries, stating that Iranian surgeons will operate on children in Punjab suffering from congenital heart defects. He noted that Pakistan had recently hosted UK-based cardiac surgeons who successfully operated on nine children in Faisalabad. Dr. Ali Razaq has been designated as the focal person for this initiative.

Speaking on the occasion, Iranian Consul General Mehran Mowahid Far praised the Punjab government’s efforts for public welfare and acknowledged Punjab’s development under CM Maryam Nawaz Sharif’s leadership. He expressed gratitude to the Punjab government for training individuals traveling to Iran for religious pilgrimages.

He further stated that Iran has prepared an advanced cardiac surgery package for Punjab, expressing confidence that under PM Shehbaz Sharif and CM Maryam Nawaz Sharif, polio eradication efforts in Pakistan will gain momentum. He also announced plans to hold medical training seminars in Mashhad and Qom and assured continued support for Iranian students studying in Pakistan.

Chairman of the Chief Minister’s Task Force, Dr. Farqad Alamgir, stressed that instead of sending every child to Iran for surgery, Iranian pediatric heart surgeons should perform procedures in Pakistan.

CEO of Punjab Health Initiative Management Company, Dr. Ali Razaq, stated that his organization is the executing agency for the Chief Minister’s Children’s Heart Surgery Program.
