DG PHA chairs Horticulture Society of Pakistan meeting

Lahore: A meeting of the Horticulture Society of Pakistan was held under the chairmanship of Director General, Parks and Horticulture Authority (PHA), Ahmad Usman Javed.



Additional Managing Director Rao Tasleem Akhtar, Director Finance Ahmad Saeed Manj and other concerned Directors attended the meeting. The delegation of the Horticulture Society of Pakistan comprised Sajid Khan Somroo, Professor Tariq Jilani, Ms. Saima Sikandar and other members.



The meeting reviewed in detail the arrangements and preparations for the Chrysanthemum Exhibition 2026, while various proposals were discussed to make next year’s exhibition more effective, attractive and professionally organized.



Speaking on the occasion, DG PHA Ahmad Usman Javed appreciated the effective cooperation of the Horticulture Society of Pakistan for the Chrysanthemum Exhibition 2026. He announced that planning and preparations for the Chrysanthemum Exhibition 2027 would be initiated immediately.



The MD PHA said that efforts would be made to further improve the size, quality and variety of chrysanthemum flowers for the 2027 exhibition. In this regard, the Horticulture Society of Pakistan will provide training to PHA gardeners on proper cultivation, care, growth and propagation of chrysanthemums.



He said that the Society’s technical support would help enhance the professional skills of PHA gardeners and enable them to prepare and cultivate different varieties of chrysanthemums more effectively.



It was also agreed in the meeting that the Horticulture Society of Pakistan would extend assistance in providing different varieties of plants and flowers to PHA Lahore. This initiative will contribute to promoting horticulture in the city and further strengthen seasonal flower exhibitions and plantation activities.
