Lahore: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif congratulated Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) candidate Malik Munir Iqbal Channar on his victory in the by-election in NA-168, Bahawalpur.
In her statement, the chief minister expressed gratitude over the party’s success and paid tribute to the people of Bahawalpur for their support and confidence in the PML-N. She thanked the voters for endorsing the party and said the people of NA-168 had reaffirmed their confidence in the politics of development and public service.
CM Maryam Nawaz said the by-election result reflected public trust in welfare-oriented projects and development initiatives undertaken by the Punjab government. She said the election was akin to a referendum on the performance of the provincial government, adding that the people had endorsed its measures with a substantial majority.
