Hyderabad: Commissioner Shaheed Benazirabad Division. Shahmeer Khan Bhutto. chaired an important meeting with flour mill owners from across the division.
The meeting was held Monday at Darbar Hall. to review flour prices. availability of wheat and its supply to market.
Deputy Commissioner Shaheed Benazirabad Abdul Samad Nizamani. Additional Commissioner-II Syed Ammar Hussain. Additional Deputy Commissioner Saddam Hussain Memon. District Food Controller Shaheed Benazirabad Dilshad Soomro. Assistant Director Bureau of Supply Mazhar Shar. Inspector Rao Shakeel Ahmed. and flour mill owners from Shaheed Benazirabad attended the meeting.
Deputy Commissioner Sanghar Sarah Javed. Additional Deputy Commissioner Naushahro Feroze Muhammad Mustaqeem Qureshi. and flour mill owners from Naushahro Feroze and Sanghar participated the meeting through video link.
The meeting reviewed in detail the availability of wheat. flour production. prevailing flour prices. and arrangements to ensure the supply of flour to public at officially notified rates.
Addressing the meeting. Commissioner Shahmeer Khan Bhutto said that Government of Sindh had fixed flour prices to provide relief to common people. and ensuring implementation of notified rates was a top priority.
He directed the concerned officers to ensure uninterrupted availability of flour to public at government-approved prices and strictly monitor compliance with the notified rates.
Commissioner urged flour mill owners to extend full cooperation to the administration in providing relief to public and play their role in discouraging artificial shortages. hoarding and profiteering.
He also directed those involved in the illegal storage of wheat to refrain from hoarding and profiteering and bring their stored wheat into the market so that relief could be provided to consumers and adequate wheat supplies could be maintained.
Commissioner further directed concerned officers to continuously monitor wheat and flour prices in the markets and take legal action against those found violating officially notified rates.
During the meeting. flour mill owners from all three districts apprised the administration of their issues and concerns regarding availability and supply of wheat and flour.
The administration assured them of possible cooperation in resolving genuine issues faced by flour mills while reiterating its commitment to ensuring the availability of flour to public at reasonable and officially notified prices.
