Commissioner Lahore reviews revenue, civic services targets across division

Lahore: Commissioner Lahore Division Nauman Yousaf reviewed progress on revenue and civic services targets across the division and directed the officers concerned to ensure early disposal of all pending revenue cases.



He was chairing a divisional meeting attended by the deputy commissioners of all four districts, here on Saturday. The meeting also reviewed the allocation of land under the ‘Apna Khet Apna Rozgar’ initiative.



The deputy commissioners briefed the meeting on the performance of districts against various indicators, implementation of service delivery measures and progress on the Model Village initiative.



The commissioner directed all districts to dispose of pending revenue cases at the earliest. He asked Additional Deputy Commissioners (Revenue), Assistant Commissioners and revenue officers to focus on weekly progress of cases in their respective courts. He directed Assistant Commissioners, PERA Force and price magistrates to further intensify price checking and monitoring, saying zero tolerance would be observed regarding negligence in display of official price lists of essential commodities. He stressed that spot checking of prices would not be compromised and directed the deputy commissioners to personally monitor the process.



Nauman Yousaf said there would be no concession for profiteering and directed the officers to ensure strict implementation of the Punjab government’s instructions. He said development and beautification projects were among the priorities, with equal focus on rural and urban areas. He directed that development works in every tehsil be completed according to prescribed timelines and deadlines while ensuring quality standards.



The commissioner said revenue and municipal service delivery had equal importance in line with the vision of Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif.
