HYDERABAD:Deputy Commissioner Shaheed Benazirabad Aamir Hussain Panhwar directed all fertilizer dealers of the district to ensure that fertilizers were being sold at rates fixed by the government and fertilizer companies.
DC warned that those found in overcharging would face legal action. He was addressing a meeting of officials of agriculture department, representatives of fertilizer companies and fertilizer dealers on the issue of control of fertilizer prices in the district.
DC said that the economy of district was based on agriculture and district administration was making all out efforts to provide relief to growers for better output of crops. He said that district administration in coordination with officials of agriculture department would form raiding teams who would be empowered to raid fertilizer dealers and would impose fine and seal the shop in case of overcharging.
DC directed Additional Director agriculture department to form strategy to ensure arability of fertile and its sale at company fixed price and send the proposal of strategy to DC office in order to act in time and provide proper relief to growers.
Briefing the meeting, Additional Director Agriculture Muhammad Ramzan Channa said that 13,51,632 bags of fertilizer were required for crops cultivation target on 2,92,181 acres during Kharif Season from March 15 to September 15, 2022. He said that fertilizer companies had so far supplied 3,72,800 fertilizer bags to its dealers while companies had assured further supply of fertilizer in time.
The meeting was attended by Assistant Commissioner Nawabshah Iqbal Tunio, representatives of FFC, Sona Urea, Engro and Fatima Fertilizer companies and fertilizer dealers from different towns of the district.
