ATC rejects bail pleas of three accused in Chinese nationals’ kidnapping, robbery case

Islamabad:An Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) on Thursday rejected the post-arrest bail applications of three accused nominated in a case involving the alleged kidnapping and robbery of Chinese nationals.



ATC Judge Abual Hasnat Muhammad Zulqarnain announced the verdict after hearing arguments from both sides. Prosecutor Raja Naveed Kiyani appeared before the court during the proceedings.



The court dismissed the post-arrest bail applications of Umar Hayat, Usman and Haris Mazhar.



According to the FIR registered at the Shahzad Town Police Station, the accused allegedly robbed and kidnapped Chinese nationals from a house in Sector F-10/4.



The accused allegedly entered the house, subjected security guards to violence and held the Chinese nationals and other employees hostage. They were also accused of stealing mobile phones, laptops and cash before allegedly abducting three Chinese nationals in a vehicle.



The FIR further alleged that the accused demanded $200,000 in ransom for the release of the three Chinese nationals.
