Multan: Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Nouman Siddique has issued an ultimatum to private sanitation contractors operating in City and Saddar areas to improve their performance immediately.
Presiding over a review meeting of the Suthra Punjab campaign, the Deputy Commissioner warned that contractor companies would be terminated if they failed to meet cleanliness standards. He made it clear that there would be zero tolerance for negligence in providing a clean and healthy environment to citizens.
The meeting was attended by Chief Executive Officer Multan Waste Management Company, Abid Hussain Bhatti, along with heads of the concerned contractor companies. The Deputy Commissioner expressed dissatisfaction over the current sanitation arrangements and directed contractors to ensure full availability of machinery and manpower.
Muhammad Nouman Siddique directed the officials to impose heavy fines on contractors in case of poor performance. He also ordered the preparation of a micro-plan for door-to-door garbage collection and disposal to ensure efficient waste management across the city.
To further strengthen monitoring, the district administration has also formed a special bike squad to oversee sanitation operation.
